Coppell appeared to start off strong with a goal within the first few minutes of play but it was disallowed due to an offside call. PSA awards Springer title of Hometown Hero

From motivational stories to heart warming work in the community, those who strive to make a difference in Coppell are now being recognized. The Coppell High School Public Service Academy (PSA) is wrapping up the second year of the Hometown Hero project, devoted to giving recognition to residents who have had a positive community effect. This year’s Hero, Coppell Middle School East Principal Laura Springer, was announced at the Coppell game against Justin Northwest on Friday. Vista Ridge Mall’s Cool School contest awards NTH@C $2,500

New Tech High @ Coppell was a name doted on that wall, along with eight other schools, and after months of competing was finally announced as the first place winner on Jan. 29. Diggs to carry on highlights at Mizzou
For numerous high school seniors, the prospect of playing college athletics is daunting and highly unlikely. Only a handful of Coppell student athletes each year are lucky and privileged enough to play at one of the highest levels of organized sports in the nation. Senior soccer captain Alyssa Diggs is one of the lucky few who have worked hard enough to earn a scholarship at the next level, which for her will be at the University of Missouri. Baseball and softball look to start the season strong
By Nathan Reck Replacing an athlete that goes on to play at the college level isn’t easy, but replacing six Division I players in one year is next to impossible. Cowgirls upset Allen Eagles in five-game match
By Andy Tabor Heart, determination, and execution: all of these traits were demonstrated on Nov. 6 by the Coppell Cowgirl volleyball team. The Cowgirls beat the number four ranked team in the state and top team in the area 25-21, 22-25, 25-21, 22-25, and 16-14 in a nail-biting five game match. The Cowgirls and Allen Eagles were extremely evenly matched and seemed to have answers for the other team every single point. Cowgirls win Sixth Consecutive Match
by Andy Tabor Coppell Volleyball handed Mesquite a quick loss Tuesday night. The Cowgirls won in three games, 25-11, 25-9, and 25-15. This was the Cowgirls sixth straight win. The team was pleased with being able to close out the Skeeters in three games. “Maintaining our focus was important for us to win this game,” Captain Shelby Tamura said. “It’s a good win to get ready for the upcoming district season.” The Cowgirls play away at McKinney Boyd Friday. Boyd should present the Cowgirls a good challenge, preparing them further for the Southlake Carroll district opener the next Friday September 25.
