Valentine’s Day merchandise seen in stores early

By Sarah Police Staff Writer This weekend, I was doing a little bit of shopping at the mall and I noticed something odd at Macy’s. Christmas and New Year’s celebrations have just ended, but it hasn’t stopped any of the stores from putting up Valentine’s Day decorations. It feels like I just celebrated New Years and all of a sudden Valentine’s Day has crept up on me. Some other students at CHS also feel the same way. “It’s a little early to be putting Valentine’s Day decorations and merchandise up,” senior Caroline Gibbons said. “I still feel like we’re still celebrating the New Year.” It feels like Christmas and New Years have downplayed in their…

Love is in the air

Kimberly Del Angel Staff Writer Febuary 14th is the day of love. The day that every teenager (especially girls) mold into the perfect cookie cutter day. As Bennett works throughout the day, however, he quickly comes to realize with the help of his quick witted co-worker Alphonso (George Lopez) that for himself and for many others, including his best friend Julia…

By Rebecca Fowler Sidekick Staff Writer Emily Mankin KCBY Generally, Valentine’s Day is a hit-or-miss holiday.  It is great for those with significant others, but not so enjoyable for singles. However, students involved in Ready, Set, Teach! have the opportunity to really enjoy Feb. 14 this year.  By watching kids they have come to know and love experience Valentine’s Day the way they did years ago. Getting to watch little ones soak in the holidays is a special treat to high schoolers who often come to take these traditions for granted. “I remember when we used to make shoeboxes into Valentine’s mail boxes and cut a little slot in the top where everyone gives their…
