The Jersey Shore: Stupid but Funny
Chase Porter Staff Writer The extremely popular show, The Jersey Shore, that airs on Thursday nights at 9 p.m. is at the middle of its second season on MTV. The show is full of fights between the roommates and the crazy drama which happens when you put a bunch of people in the same house with each other. The episode that aired last night took a turn for the super dramatic when two of the girls, Jewoww and Sammi, got into a fist fight and the house was split into new alliances. Many viewers that I know who watch the show religiously say that the episode last night was the best yet of the season purely…
Mad Men, Modern Family dominate Emmy Awards
Rebecca Neumann Entertainment Editor Last Sunday, many tuned in to the Emmy Awards to see if their favorite shows would claim the coveted statue. Fans of Mad Men and Modern Family at least were not disappointed. The AMC hit drama claimed the title award, Best Drama Series, as well as a writing award, beating out Lost and the serial killer series Dexter. Modern Family also dominated their category, winning Best Comedy and Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Eric Stonestreet). However, I feel it worthy to note that some actors and actresses were more than qualified to receive an award but were overlooked due to the obscurity of their show. My main example is…
ABC’s new show Happy Town
by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer Murder, mystery, dramatic music -all the ingredients for a perfect scary TV show that have me hooked on ABC’s new show Happy Town. Ironic to the title, the quaint town of Haplin is creepy, its people are creepy and the series of events are creepy and pretty much the exact opposite of anything happy the townspeople could ask for. A quick idea about what the show is about: There’s a town, called Haplin, also known as “Happy Town” (in Minnesota). Its small population is plagued with a history of unsolved kidnappings of their children (main suspect: “Magic Man”) and a recent murder upsets the recovering town. The show is interesting because it…

Possible ‘Ugly Betty’ movie in the works
By Chris Nguyen Features Editor Though this week brought about the return of guilty-pleasure “Glee,” it also gave way to the end of “Ugly Betty,” comnig to a close after four seasons on ABC. It was a bittersweet fans for Betty fans, the few of us that lasted through many the creative ups and downs of the show. Yet, many loose ends were still left hanging from the relationship between Betty and Daniel to Wilhemina’s overtake of Mode. Now, cast member Ana Ortiz has fanned the flames over a possible “Betty” movie in the near future, telling Latina.com, “It’s something that we’ve been talking about and it’s something that America Ferrera would really love to…

Lost starts in final season
Allie Perison Editor in Chief This Tuesday, Lost came back with the first episode of its final season. If you read my last blog, you are well aware of my mixed feelings about the show. As I sat down to watch on Tuesday, I was expecting somewhat of a letdown. I feel like I have been in a troubled six year relationship with Lost. The kind where I think it is cheating on me and am suspicious of its every move. A little drastic? Maybe. True? Definitely. I am not ashamed of my inconsistent relationship with Lost. I still have hope that maybe it will end with the same bang it came in with. After…
Hopes that Lost provides answers
Next Tuesday, Feb. 6, the popular series Lost will return for its 6th and final season. As an avid watcher, I have mixed feelings about what this season has in store. After starting out with a huge following and gradually falling into what some would call a three year sophomore slump, the show is supposedly going to “answer all our unanswered questions.” How many times have we heard this false promise? Quite frankly, I have almost bailed on the show twice, but continued watching in hopes that one of these days I would get some answers. It seems that my love for the characters outweighs my constant annoyance with new mysteries that will inevitably be…
