In efforts to help one of our nation’s greatest neighbors, thousands of Americans have come together to devise all sorts of charity events and fundraisers to help raise money in hopes to help restore one of the world’s most precious countries. Let’s say across the globe, from the area of one of the largest recorded natural disasters since Chernobyl. The arrival of the incoming freshman on April 4 at Coppell High School spun curiosity among the students and administration. After the effects of the tsunami were plastered across newspapers and television screens, many Coppell citizens were shocked that the Kawai’s were just two regular teenage students but with a troubling background, originally from the center of the city ready to make friends and experience the calmer environment that is Coppell. Cranes help aid Japan relief
Kimberly Del Angel Staff Writer Last Friday, Wilson Elementary students came together with their cranes to help aid Japan along with The Bezos Family Foundation . For each crane that was donated, The Bezos Family Foundation donated $2 to Architecture for Humanity’s reconstruction efforts in Japan. This all started with 3rd Grade students wanted to help out Japan in some way after hearing about the devastation of the earthquake and tsunami; many students and staff members at wilson elementry have become friends with former Wilson students who now live in Japan. By Angela Almeida Opinions Editor I am greatly frightened. I go on CNN and hardly see a shortage of stories I’m not quickly clicking to read further on. Let me make a list of the untimely catastrophes that have recently plagued our world. 1. Not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 (give or take a few more) earthquakes in Chile. I am beside myself. Aftershocks here, aftershocks there. What have our fault lines come too? As of now, I’m frightened to venture anywhere outside of a secured, not earthquake-ridden zone. 2.
