Bad weather causes cancellations in tennis, soccer
By Travis Bremner Staff Writer Due to the raining and inclement weather all over the Dallas/Fort Worth area, there have been some cancellations of Coppell outdoor sporting events this weekend. The varsity tennis team had a tournament scheduled in Denton Guyer today but the down pour has prevented the matches from taking place. The squad has played fairly well thus far this season, and was looking to continue that, it is unclear when the tournament will be rescheduled. The team is 8-2-4 on the season, riding on a two game winning streaking…
A look into the playoffs
By Nathan Reck Assistant Sports Editor Football: At 8-1 the Cowboys clinched a playoff berth with their third district win of the year in a 48 point blowout of Lewisville. Top seeding in district gives Coppell a leg up in the tournament. “Ones play twos,” head coach Jane Jackson said. “This guarantees we won’t play a championship team in the first round.” The nature of Texas tennis,…

By Gaby Moran Staff Writer Team tennis has been going on for a few weeks now and is coming close to end. With only one district match left for everyone, the last week is crucial. Flower Mound Marcus, Coppell and Flower Mound have all beaten South Lake Carroll, Hebron and Lewisville but the record against each other is making things complicated in the sense that there can be a three-way tie. During week 3, Coppell and Marcus played each other and Coppell lost 9-10. While this was a sad defeat, it did not guarantee Marcus any rankings. During week 4, Flower Mound and Marcus played eachother and Flower Mound beat Marcus 12-7. As of now, Flower Mound…
