2012 Super Bowl set to be an exciting game
By John Loop Staff Writer Snow and ice generated many cheering children last year around this time, but also caused trouble for the biggest event in sports, the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers and the Packers put on quite a show at Jerry-world, but this year’s game in Indianapolis is bound to be even better. The matchup between the two most prolific offenses in football this season, the New York Giants and the New England Patriots, will be a game of defensive stops (or lack of them). The Patriots averaged over 32 points a game during the regular season, which means the Giants front seven, namely Jason Pierre-Paul, Osi Umeniyora and Justin Tuck, will have to…

By Henna Khan Business Manager This years Super Bowl could be one of the first ever to be played without cheerleaders leading the crowd on the sidelines. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers are two of the six teams in the entire National Football League without an official cheerleading squad. For any Cowboys fans attending the Super Bowl, it is going to be quite the experience not seeing their Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders strutting their routines on the field. In 1988, the Packers got rid of their professional cheering squad for reasons not known. Since 2007, the Packers have used collegiate cheerleaders, but only for little entertainment at select home games. From 1961 to…
