CHS clubs seek to help community

Tolu Salako Staff Writer Coppell has always been there to help others in need whether children or adults. Recently many CHS clubs have been doing just that. Student Council has been collecting arts and crafts supplies for Children’s medical Center while the Cross Country Team has been and is still collecting brightly colored socks to honor Veronica Sheer for those in the women’s shelter. In addition, HOSA is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and as an incentive will give the fourth period class with the most money a pasta party from Olive Garden. Homecoming Preparation 2011 – 2012

Tolu Salako Staff Writer Homecoming 2011 – 2012 is just around the corner and the theme this year is, “Please Don’t Stop the Music.” Homecoming this year is during the weekend of September 23rd and Student Council will be accepting pre-orders in all three lunches for Homecoming T-Shirts for $16 until Friday, September 2nd. Along with Student Council, Project Graduation will be taking orders in order to make a mum or garter during all lunches in the Commons from September 6 – September 16. Supplies can be picked up at the Mum Shop in Plano, Texas.

St. Jude’s rally against childhood cancer

Everyone received an opportunity to participate in the letter writing campaign during his or her MAP class on Thursday.                 “Each class receives a specific amount of pre-coded letters for CHS asking for someone to donate,” Student council (STUCO) advisor Sunny Richardson said. “In MAP, students will have the option to fill out as many or as little letters as they want and send them to family or friends. St. Jude Rally Against Childhood Cancer

Each day, students are encouraged to dress up according to the theme and help promote awareness for childhood cancer.
