Conan to visit SMU

Ashleigh Heaton Entertainment Editor Yes. Yes, yes, yes. Conan O’Brien (hereon referred to lovingly as Coco) is going on a comedy tour of 30 cities, and Dallas is on his list of stops. On Thursday, May 13, the former host of “The Tonight Show” will visit the Southern Methodist University’s McFarlin Memorial Auditorium accompanied by his former co-host Andy Richter and former “Tonight Show” band for what I’m sure will be an evening of hilarity. Jean-Jacques Taylor, a sports columnist for the Dallas Morning News, and his colleagues from the sports world gave the room of budding journalists, innumerable journalism tips. I learned three very important lessons…

The most surprising thing about this game, rather this beat down, was how the Mustangs sustained drives, on five of their seven scoring possessions they had eight or more plays. It wasn’t turnovers or offensive miscues by the Wolf pack that allowed SMU to score so much, the Mustangs were just better. However, the quick strike early helped SMU’s confidence, and it was all uphill from there….
