Texas Giant to reopen at Six Flags Over Texas

Addy Buigas-Lopez Staff Writer The Texas Giant used to be one of the few completely wooden rollercoasters at Six Flags Over Texas. While one of the classics, the Giant lost its fans when the rickety track had riders leaving with whooplash and aching backs. Taking this into consideration, Six Flags put the rollercoaster under major remodelling. Along with a steel frame atop wooden supports, the heighest part of the rollercoaster now has an added ten feet and the rollercoaster now holds the record for the steepest angle of a drop for a wooden rollercoaster at 79 degrees. Junior Kayla Briel is the best rider in her age group of 16-17, and looks forward to be a top contender for a long time.
