Coppell Traditions

Hollis Muenster

By Corrina Taylor Staff Writer With the football season back, the Cowboys show off our Coppell spirit. The senior girls dazzle us with their elaborate and festive overalls that not only show their spirit and support of the team, but also gives the senior girls a chance to show off their personality. With these colorful and creative overalls, it is easy to identify that the girls with the overalls are this year’s seniors.  However, the senior boys are not as easy to spot. Many people remember the infamous “jorts” that a handful of senior guys modeled last year. The problem with the “jorts” however was that they were extremely short especial ly on the guys,…

Eighth graders learn the ropes

Addy Buigas-Lopez Staff Writer Video by Lauren Louis and Garrett Anderson, KCBY Joining a school as big as Coppell High School is never easy. And being a freshman means starting at the bottom, learning everything for the first time and not knowing your way around the maze high school portrays itself as. For those who have older siblings or friends at the high school already, they may be more comfortable with the idea of joining the high school. However for those who don’t, CHS can be beyond overwhelming. In efforts to make the transition from middle to high school easier, CHS allows eighth graders to visit the high school on “shadow days,” or a time…

The day started off with a warm welcome as the students were ushered into the auditorium for a brief introduction as well as an overview video made by KCBY. The kids were then broken down into 14 different groups, where they would be paired with one Red Jacket and one Ready, Set, Teach! member….
