Red Cross Club spreads holiday cheer with Christmas Grams
By Elizabeth Sims Staff Writer Spread a little holiday cheer to your friends, favorite teachers or that “special someone” and send them a Christmas Gram. The Red Cross Club is selling Christmas Grams during all lunches and after school for $3. However, today is the final day to purchase Christmas Grams so make sure you drop by soon. There will be a table set up by the attendance office in the large commons where you can make your purchase. The Christmas Grams will be distributed during the final week before Christmas break. Battle of the Bands to benefit Japan disaster relief

In efforts to help one of our nation’s greatest neighbors, thousands of Americans have come together to devise all sorts of charity events and fundraisers to help raise money in hopes to help restore one of the world’s most precious countries. Red Cross Club to sell baked goods for earthquake victims
By Loren Hughes Staff Writer From Jan. 25 to Jan. 29, the CHS Red Cross Club will be selling baked goods after school in order to raise money for Haiti, to go towards the aid of their earthquake victims. The Red Cross Club will be taking the money earned to the Dallas chapter of the Red Cross, where the money will be directly sent to Haiti. In addition to selling baked goods, donations are also welcomed and encouraged. “There are cookies, cupcakes, brownies and everything is under a dollar,” Red Cross Club sponsor Beth Dorn said. “We already earned $70 yesterday alone, so everyone should keep bringing their dollars for a good cause.” So CHS,…
Red Cross Club to meet after school today
By: Loren Hughes This Thursday, Oct. 8, the Red Cross Club will be meeting after school in the library classroom. This year, the club welcomes new lead sponsor Mrs. Dorn, the school nurse, and will be working to participate in activities such as bake sales and volunteering at Dallas’ Red Cross warehouse. New members who wish to help out in their community and raise awareness about how to help those in need should attend today’s meeting. Red Cross Club off to a healthy start
By: Loren Hughes Last Wednesday, Sept. 16, the Red Cross Club had their first meeting of the school year. So far, the club has already acquired a new incentive for students to join their club. This year, Mr. Hunt has given the Red Cross Club permission to allow their senior volunteers to receive pins for their graduation gowns. This requires the Red Cross Club members to volunteer at various locations and events, while representing the club. Throughout the year, the club hopes to take numerous trips to one of the Red Cross warehouses in Dallas.
