Volleyball team participates in annual Dig for the Cure fundraider

Thomas Hair Staff Writer As you drove to school this morning, you probably noticed an army of pink ribbons around Coppell High School. Almost every tree on campus was decorated with a little pink ribbon, and in the parent loop, a large banner billowed in the wind. The group behind the fuchsia-colored adornments was the CHS volleyball team. It was all part of an effort the raise breast cancer awareness, and more specifically, the volleyball team’s annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser: Dig for the Cure. Dig for the Cure was founded in 2003 by the volleyball coach of UNC-Charlotte, and has since become a tradition for volleyball teams nationwide. All proceeds from are given directly to the Susan G. The annual Susan G. Komen Dig For the Cure volleyball game is quickly approaching.  The Coppell Cowgirls will take on Northwest High School in this year’s game.  The game will take place at 6:30 on September 27 at Northwest High School.  Remember, the game is not at Coppell this year! For those who do not already know, the purpose of Dig for the Cure is to raise cancer awareness amongst players, coaches, fans, and all members of the community.  The color pink has become a symbolic of Dig for the Cure.  Everyone is encouraged to come out to the game wearing pink.  The little pink ribbons are great reminders of what to wear! Rock and Worship Roadshow to rock the AAC

By Rebecca Fowler Staff Writer The American Airlines Center holds concerts of many different kinds year-round.  From P!nk to Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, the venue is packed most weekends with excited fans. One of the most unique concerts held at the AAC, however, is coming next weekend: the Rock and Worship Roadshow.  The tour is made up of seven different big-name Christian artists, including MercyMe, David Crowder Band, Family Force 5, Francesca Battistelli and Fee. How MTV’s VMAs kinda got its groove back

MTV kept the stage big, the celebrities camptastic and the performances coming.
