College crunch time
Madison Ford Entertainment Editor In an effort to help seniors effectively apply to college, the counseling staff met with seniors during their English classes today in order to outline requirements and answer questions about the application process. Students were directed to rooms where their respective counselor discussed the ins an outs of applying to college, as well as pointing out important deadlines and scholarship opportunities. Scholarship help for desperate seniors
Rebecca Neumann Entertainment Editor Like many other seniors, I am being pushed by my parents to find as many scholarships as possible. It’s a daunting task, but it is made easier with a few tips. The website hosts a “resume” for the students, which lists their scores, GPA and rank, as well as a college and scholarship search program. A new feature recently added, a college match-up service, compares the students statistics based off of those of last year’s seniors who applied…
Naviance eases college prep stress
by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer As Juniors find senior year approaching, Naviance Family Connection serves as a great all-purpose tool for anything and everything related to college. Earlier this year, students should have set up a Naviance account with their counselors and teacher -the username following the format of the student’s older school e-mail (ABC2345@students.coppellisd.com) and password (mm/dd/yy). With the three main categories of college, career and “about me”, Naviance users can have access to information on upcoming college visits, scholarship opportunities, college maps; career choices and personality and interest tests; and history about you, the student. With the “about me” feature, students can access their recorded favorite colleges, favorite careers, their personality type, resume,…
