Mooyah sponsors smiles

Kelly Stewart Staff Writer Want to get some good burgers and help children in need at the same time? Look no further than Mooyah’s. Tonight, from 5-10pm, Mooyah is sponsoring Operation Smile, an organization that raises money for surgeries for needy children with cleft lips and palates. Started in 1982, according to their website, they consist of a team of volunteer professionals who help children with deformities of the mouth lead healthier, more normal lives than they would have otherwise. If you would like to donate, visit Mooyah’s and leave them your receipt.

Mooyah to host junior class fundraising event

Ashleigh Heaton Entertainment Editor This Tuesday, May 18, Mooyah will be hosting a fundraising event for the Coppell High School junior class. All the proceeds of the event will go toward the class of 2011′s prom funds. The catch? The only way for your purchase to go toward the event, you have to place you receipt in the marked box by the register. So be sure after you order your burger and fries (which are delicious, of course) to get rid of your receipt in the right area so the class of 2011 can dance their way to an awesome senior prom.

The Sidekick’s fundraiser at Mooyah

April 14 is holding a fundraiser at Mooyah Burgers and Fries, located at Sandy Lake and Denton Tap, where from 5 to 10 pm 20 percent of your meal order will go to yours truly, The Sidekick, ranked 7th in the nation by the JEA/NSPA Fall National High School Journalism Convention. There will be a Sidekick member with a jar to collect receipts in order for a portion to go to the newspaper. Lakeside Carnival to be featured on Jan. 30

By Loren Hughes Staff Writer On Saturday, Jan. 30, the always entertaining Lakeside Carnival will be at Lakeside Elementary from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., for one day only. Each year, the Lakeside Carnival brings entertainment and enjoyment to children all over Coppell, and even though the carnival lasts only four hours this year, it is still bound to bring several thrills. The numerous activities include face painting, a cake walk, sandy candy, inflatables, temporary tattoos and a crazy hair salon. There will also be food provided by Mooyah Burger & Fries. In addition to these attractions, there will be a silent auction which will include such items as a Nintendo Wii and a mosaic created by the students of Lakeside. So…
