Coppell takes down Marcus in important 6-5A showdown 
By Andy Tabor The Coppell Cowboy football team beat Flower Mound Marcus 42-21 in a statement win for the Cowboys. Coming off of a shaky win against Hebron, the Cowboys left no doubt that they were the better team against Marcus Friday night. Once again, junior running back Cam McDaniel put on a show for Coppell, scoring five touchdowns. McDaniel had only 41 rushing yards, but made many impact and momentum shifting plays to help Coppell secure such an important win. Coppell faces Marcus in heavyweight battle
Tonight under the lights in Lewisville two distrcit 6-5A teams sitting in the middle of the pack at 1-1 in district play will fight for an inside track to the playoffs. With three weeks left in the regular season the winner of tonights game greatly increases their chances at making the playoffs, while the loser will be stuck hanging onto a fourth seed. Marcus (4-2) and Coppell (6-1) both have put up impressive numbers to this point with their only losses coming to Southlake (both teams) and Katy (Marcus). Marcus vs Coppell Preview
By Andy Tabor Staff Writer Like last week, this Friday I was able to speak with a member of a local area volleyball team that had played against Coppell and their upcoming district opponent. The match up this week is against Flower Mound Marcus and I had the pleasure of talking to Dj Phee, a senior outside-hitter committed to playing volleyball at West Point Academy in New York. Her current team, the Allen Eagles, are ranked number one in the area and number five in the entire state of Texas. Think of Marcus as Southlake. Just add intensity and harsh feelings towards each other and you have Coppell vs. Marcus ’09. Coppell split with Marcus last season, and hope to get off on the right foot this season against them.
