CHS Marching Band crushes competition in Mesquite

By Thomas Hair Staff Writer The Coppell High School Marching Band has been extremely successful over the past decade and is recognized as one of the most prestigious high school bands in the state of Texas. After hundreds of hours of work – both in the summer and after school – this year’s band is on track to have an amazing year. Their first contest of the season took place at Mesquite Memorial Stadium for the Mesquite Marching Festival on Saturday, October 2nd. 32 bands from all classifications came out to compete in this all-day event, and the competition was fierce. CHS Marching Band perform Jubilee part I

Kimberly Del Angel Staff Writer Last Friday night the Coppell Cowboys took on the Mesquite Horn Jaguars and had a fierce round-up of 13-0. During halftime the Coppell High School marching band  preformed their show: Life Americana part I, Jubilee and shows great signs of of developing into a killer show this season. This year the band also plans to create a bigger visual for the audience by bringing in props, Coppell directors are trying to keep them under wraps, so there is no mention of what the props will possibly be.
