Madrigal perform annual feast
By Jay Carroll Staff Writer Laughter, great singing, and delicious food – sounds about right for a night at the annual Madrigals Feast. The Coppell High School Madrigals put on its annual Madrigal Feast on Dec. 2-3 in the Large Commons at Coppell High School. This year’s play was entitled “The Tragedy of Orpheus.” The night started off with another choir, Bel Canto, singing multiple songs to get the audience excited for the night. Annual Madrigal Feast returns to Coppell
By Jay Carroll Staff Writer With not much happening tonight and Saturday in Coppell, why not cure the boredom by going to the Madrigal Feast and their play this year: “The Tragedy of Orpheus”. The Madrigals put on their show every year at the beginning of December in the Commons. This show features a play, followed by a lot of music and food. The show is always fun for the whole family and is a good time to go see your friends and fellow students do what they do best. Taylor pursues vocal future
By Beth Anne Carroll Staff Writer There was a time when senior Hilary Taylor shared her time and commitments between her two musical talents: band and choir. These days, she only has one focus, and she plans to pursue it for years to come. Taylor has had a highly successful vocal music career at Coppell High School. Now, she is taking her talents to the collegiate level. After a high school music career including several awards, all-state honors and a stint as a captain of the varsity choral ensemble Madrigals, Taylor will follow her dreams and pursue a future in music. She plans to major in vocal performance at the University of Texas at Austin….
CHS choir concert proves successful
Zeb White Asst. Business Manager, Staff Writer On Tuesday, Coppell High School’s choir department held its annual fall choir concert featuring all ten of the award-winning CHS choirs. As expected, the event was a success. The evening began with the Acapella (the top varsity mixed choir) performing the National Anthem. Students may recognize this rousing interpretation, as it is performed at every pep rally. Following Acapella were the CMS West honor choir, Treble Choir, Concert Choir, Select Women’s, Varsity Women’s, Varsity Men’s, Brava!, Bel Canto, Vivace!, and Madrigals. Madrigals score high note at contest
by Melissa Brisco staff writer Last weekend, on March 6th the CHS Madrigals traveled to San Antonio, TX to compete in the American Classic Madrigals and Chamber Choir Festivals. The Madrigals have competed in this competition multiple times before and always do well. This year, the Madrigals received the honor of first runner up. The American Classic Madrigals and Chamber Choir Festival is similar to what a UIL state competition would be if there was one for Madrigals choirs. Madrigals to compete in San Antonio on Sat. 3/6

The CHS Madrigal varisty choir will compete in their first competition of the season at the annual American Classic Madrigal/Chamber Music Festival in San Antonio, Texas this Saturday, March 6. The Madrigals will compete at 4 p.m. and hope to regain a title that they have held multiple times before as the top choir.
