CISD decides on policy of redistricting to alleviate crowding issues

by Divya Kumar News Editor An issue that Coppell ISD has faced is the issue of overpopulation and overcrowding in the south-eastern schools. In order to alleviate some of the crowd in these schools, the district has decided to redistrict certain students to other schools. This redistricting policy will begin to take effect by the next school year. This policy will have the greatest effect on students that go to Valley Ranch Elementary and Mockingbird Elementary; for those who live in the Casitas and Villas patio homes and the Reflections apartments, who currently are zoned to Valley Ranch Elementary, will  now be attending Lakeside Elementary for the next school year. Lakeside Elementary finds unique way to give back

Some of the more common ways are donating money, volunteering at a soup kitchen or purchasing a product where some of the proceeds go to a certain cause. There is one other form of helping out not often considered: hair donation. In addition to all of the deferential ways that cancer affects one’s health, there is another way cancer negatively affects cancer patients: through the loss of their hair. Lakeside Elementary carnival this weekend

by Melissa Brisco Staff Writer This Saturday, Jan. 30, Lakeside Elementary will host their annual fundraiser, the Lakeside Carnival. The carnival will take place from three to seven p.m. Each year, with tremendous help from the Lakeside parents and students, the Lakeside Carnival takes place at the end of January or the beginning of February. The carnival features such attractions as bounce houses, kiddie games, sweets and treats, blow up games, casts that you can put on your arm, cakewalks, karaoke, Mooyah burgers and a silent auction. Lakeside Carnival to be featured on Jan. 30

By Loren Hughes Staff Writer On Saturday, Jan. 30, the always entertaining Lakeside Carnival will be at Lakeside Elementary from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., for one day only. Each year, the Lakeside Carnival brings entertainment and enjoyment to children all over Coppell, and even though the carnival lasts only four hours this year, it is still bound to bring several thrills. The numerous activities include face painting, a cake walk, sandy candy, inflatables, temporary tattoos and a crazy hair salon. There will also be food provided by Mooyah Burger & Fries.
