Some iPhone apps are just weird

By Wren Culp Staff Writer Having an iPhone, I am big into apps. I love some of the apps that I use, such as “Bloomberg”, “Classics” and even “Urbanspoon”. All are genius applications that help me with my everyday life. But of course, while searching for these apps, I have come across some strange ones. Here are the top five strangest apps I have ever encountered. (Pictures of each at the bottom) Annoy A Teen ($0.99) Annoy a teen puts out a high frequency that apparently only a teenager can hear. Most adults have lost their ability to hear this high a frequency.  iDrunktxt ($0.99)  This is a disaster waiting to strike. The app basically…

iPad: Now or later?

By Mike Pankonien Staff Writer It happened. Yesterday, Apple finally officially announced their latest product: the iPad. Essentially a 9 inch by 8 inch iPod touch, the iPad is being sold as a computer that’s something more than a smart phone, but slightly less than a laptop. Although hardly a new concept, the iPad created quite a buzz in the realm of tablet computers and apple fans alike. What do you get with the iPad? All for the price of $499 (with the 16…

So I was sitting in statistics the other day when my friend wanted to see my phone. I handed it over and watched as he went to my App Store and asked if he could download a game for me. Naturally, I agreed. That might have been my best decision of the week. Traffic Rush is a game much like…

Scrabble 3GS

Apple has once again outdone themselves. No, there’s not a new iPhone, iTouch, iMac or iWhatever out; this is better. I never thought that I would find so much happiness and entertainment out of something that costs $2.99 and can be downloaded in less than 30 seconds. Well, Words With Friends proved me wrong. Words With Friends was released earlier in the year and is the iPhone’s version of scrabble, only better. You can have as many games going on as you want and you can communicate with your opponents through chats. I cannot count the number of people that have downloaded Words With Friends this week alone. In other words, it’s the new rage…
