Diggs to carry on highlights at Mizzou

For numerous high school seniors, the prospect of playing college athletics is daunting and highly unlikely. Only a handful of Coppell student athletes each year are lucky and privileged enough to play at one of the highest levels of organized sports in the nation.  Senior soccer captain Alyssa Diggs is one of the lucky few who have worked hard enough to earn a scholarship at the next level, which for her will be at the University of Missouri.  Diggs’ recruiting process started in high school around the beginning of her junior year.  Baylor and Texas were in the early running for Diggs, but she had other ideas about schools. “Initially I wanted to go to…

Snow day make-up set for June 3

By Rebecca Neumann Staff Writer After the fabulous snow day everyone enjoyed last Friday, many people must be wondering when we will make up that lost day of learning. In an email from Tracey Wallace, Executive Director of Human Resources for CISD, the fears of many were confirmed: the state will not let the district count the day as ‘instructional’, so a makeup day is obligatory. CISD has chosen to make up the missing day on Friday, June 3, the day after the school year was originally scheduled to end. However, April 2, the day when many normally celebrate Good Friday, will still be a day off for everyone if weather permits.
