Golf team to travel to Lubbock for first tournament

Thomas Hair Staff Writer The temperature is finally dropping and the students of CHS are already falling back into the routine of school. Autumn has arrived, and Coppell’s many fall sports are starting up left and right. While the rest of the school cheers on the Cowboys football team on Friday September 9, the Men’s Golf team will be embarking on a 6 hour trip to Lubbock for their first tournament of the year. In Lubbock, the 2011-2012 Men’s Golf team will compete with other North Texas schools at The Rawls Course at Texas Tech and the Shadow Hills Golf Course, both in Lubbock. It will be a worthy test for the new Varsity golf team as they finalize preparations…

Marcus has Coppell’s number again

By Peter Sblendorio The Cowboys fell for the second time to the Flower Mound Marcus Marauders this season, losing a close game 54-40.   Despite having their home crowd behind them, Marcus was able to improve its perfect district record of 8-0. The Cowboys fell to 4-4 but was able to clinch one of the four playoff spots. They sit in fourth place in District 6-5A, just one game behind 5-3 Lewisville and Flower Mound. Coppell used a big game from Hunter Robinson, who came off the bench to score a team high 13 points, to stay close against the Marauders. Seniors Andrew Bourg and Dallas Riney also helped the Cowboys cause, tallying 10 points…
