Auburn’s Cam Newton receives coveted Heisman Trophy
Thomas Hair Staff Writer Despite lingering suspicions due to NCAA investigations on his eligibility, Cam Newton was awarded the coveted Heisman Trophy in a landslide vote last night. The Heisman Trophy is annually awarded to who a series of selected Heisman voters deems the most outstanding college football player of the season, a tremendous honor. Being the quarterback and leader of college football’s #1 team, the Auburn Tigers, it was no surprise that Newton won the vote in a landslide. Baylor’s Robert Griffin III announced as Heisman canidate
After watching them every Saturday, it is fairly obvious that this year’s Baylor Bears football team is different than the one’s of years past. Led by their standout QB Robert Griffin III, the Bears are already bowl eligible with a 7-4 record, their most wins since the early 1990s. Wins over Kansas State and Texas propelled Baylor to their first top 25 ranking since that time as well. USC Scandal: Reggie Bush may lose Heisman
