Senior year expectations

By Chase Porter Staff Writer My three years at CHS have been great but will senior year really meet juniors expectations? Currently a Junior at CHS, I am looking forward to a senior year full of fun and zero work. Unfortunately, I already know this will not be the case. Juniors, I hate to say it but next year we will still have to work and take tests like everyone else. Plus, we will have to do college applications and essays so don’t get too under the weather with senior- ides. Fortunately, we do have a lot to look forward to. First off, we are going to be the oldest in the school. No more…

Senior’s last words

Ashley Attanucci Web Manager I am leaving Coppell High School. the past four years, almost a quarter of my lifetime, I have been part of this routine – school at 8:20 a.m., classes, friends, lunch, pep rallies, car pool, homework. It has become my life and the life I love. Now, suddenly, though I have known and looked forward to this fate since my first trip up the freshmen stairs, I am being pushed out of these halls I have come to know as a home away from home. And I don’t like it. After finally understanding the ins and outs of high school, I am forced to leave. Today, I can tell you where…

Seniors reflect on past four years

By Rebecca Fowler Staff Writer It has finally come. The caps will be flying and parents will be crying on June 6, as over 700 seniors walk the stage and graduate from Coppell High School. It is both an exciting and sentimental time, filled with many mixed emotions about starting fresh while also leaving something precious behind. While seniors are anxiously awaiting the start of their new lives, at the end of this journey, they are taking time to glance in the rear-view mirror and reminisce on the unforgettable moments they have experienced at CHS over the past four years. The Best Moments “One of my favorite moments in high school was when I went…

Seniors travel far and wide for higher education

By Rebecca Fowler Staff Writer Kara McFarlane KCBY College is a big step.  It takes maturity and confidence to leave behind one’s childhood and enter a new school surrounded by strangers, crazy professors and a very different environment.  For students moving out of state next year, the transition from Coppell will be even more drastic than for those heading just a few hours away. Senior Spayne Avant will be traveling to Central Florida next year, and because the school is so far from Coppell, she will be away from her friends and family for the majority of the year. “I will have to fly to and from school and probably won’t even be able to…

Prom obsession leads to reality of graduation

By Renee Rohani Business Manager “So, do you have your prom dress yet?” I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve been asked this question just this week. As my friends all around me begin to one by one snatch a great steal on a dress of their own, I sit in stubborn defiance, promising myself I’ll wait until atleast March. While I can understand (and share) my fellow seniors’ excitement about the dance of all dances that we’ve only been dreaming of for all of our high school careers, I feel the need to ask: “Isn’t it a bit early?” Sure, there are a million things to discuss and think about and plan, but for…
