What we’re watching: season premieres of your favorite TV shows

Ashleigh Heaton Editor-in-Chief As summer comes to a close, we welcome the fall season and all the joys it brings — the best of which being the return of your favorite TV shows. Here is a list of premiere dates for some of the shows I’m most excited for this season; if you haven’t seen any of these, I suggest you rent the seasons or watch them online. Chances are, it’ll be hard to tear me away from the couch on any of these evenings. “Chuck”: Monday, September 20 at 7 p.m. central on NBC I’ve been having withdrawals of this show all summer, missing my nerdy spy getaway every Monday. This season, the mysterious…

Glee rocks out to Madonna

Staff Writer Paige Wilson The last episode of Glee paid tribute to music icon Madonna. The episode focused on female empowerment and also touched on a topic for a lot of teenagers aka the the big V. The episode brought out a new side of Sue that we have never seen. Everyone always thought Sue was confident and tough however Will’s jokes toward her brought out a low point in her self esteem. Sue embraced her inner Madonna during her performance in the classic hit Vogue. Major events in the episode included Jessie moving to Mckinnley and joining Glee club. However, most likely, it’s probably about his sneaky plan to destroy the Glee club. The success…

Backstage pass into Glee

Paige Wilson Staff Writer If you watcthed last weeks episode of Glee you saw the different glee clubs of different schools preform. One of the groups was some girls from a half way house. Over the summer I went to visit a friend in California. We spent weeks talking about everything we would do. She told me that her dad was taking us on set of a show he was working on. But I soon found out that we would be stepping on to the set of Glee. When we walked into the auditorium I  began to remember the scenes I had seen that were filmed in this exact place. Then I saw all the girls. They…

Glee comes back stronger than ever

Staff Writer Paige Wilson After a few week break Glee finally returned. The show has sky rocketed to stardom in a matter of episodes and became an immediate hit with both young and old. However previous episodes have only been about high school sterotypes. This episode took a completely different aproach that touched millions, student disabilities and critisism. In this episode we finally saw how critisim can get the best of people and destroy them. The audience has been aware of Kurt’s sexuality for sometime but we finally see how the critisim Kurt faces everyday affects their family. It brought true emotion to the show for the first time. In this episode we finally are…

Glee delivers another hit with fourth episode

Paige Wilson Staff Writer Glee gave another outstanding performance this week. The show won me over when all the football players decided to breakout to Single Ladies. Kurt was definitely my favorite, as he was hysterical and emotional all in one show when he finally came out of the closet even though he really didn’t need to because everyone already knew. However, a couple characters are really getting on my nerves. The first one is Rachel. Her prissy sad attitude is extreamly annoying and she is destroying Tina’s confidence, who has a wonderful voice — to my suprise. I am happy Will stopped giving her all the solos so that I can hear another person for…

Review: Glee‘s second episode may be too racy for some

By Paige Wilson Staff Writer Glee, which premiered on Sept. 9, is one of the new series on Fox this season. The show has such a different plot than most high school-based shows. For one, it isn’t all meaningless gossip and has something for everyone to enjoy, whether it is the many musical renditions of a popular song, hysterical jokes, or substantial plot. Glee’s talented actors and actresses (like Lea Michele, who plays the lovesick Rachel Berry) are in their twenties singing songs with such big voices. In the last episode, Michele sang “Take a Bow” by Rihanna, which blew me away. The comical part of the show pulls it all together. Actress Jane Lynch plays…
