December brings fundraisers for Coppell
Addy Buigas-Lopez Staff Writer As the weather starts to turn, Coppell’s clubs and organizations are putting together fundraisers. Invisible children will be hosting a garage sale in the Sprouts parking lot, Dec. 4. Likewise, the Sidekick has a garage sale fundraiser the following week on Dec. 11. Meanwhile, the freshman class is continuing their cookie dough fundraiser. Outside of Coppell High School, Relay for Life teams are beginning their fundraising for the upcoming relay and the Salvation Army will be placing Santas at store entrances for their holiday fundraiser as well. Debate garage sale this Saturday
by Melissa Brisco Staff Writer Saturday April 10, the CHS Debate Team will hold a Garage Sale to help send Priyanka Krishnamurthy, Joey Donaghy, Sarah Mithani and Sonali Kalvala to Tournament of Champions. The garage sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held in the Coppell High School parking lot. Money raised from the garage sale will go help pay to send Krishnamurthy, Donaghy, Kalvala and Mithani to Kentucky for the Tournament of Champions. IB Garage Sale raises money for Three Cups of Tea charity
Coppell High School’s International Baccalaureate program held a garage sale on April 3 in order to raise money for the Three Cups of Tea charity. IB students donated their unwanted clothing and other items to the sale and volunteered to run the actual event from 6:45 to 12:00 on Saturday. Signs and flyers were posted around the community and high school to raise awareness. Twenty-two out of the 47 students in IB helped run the garage sale. “We made $990.98 which is well over our goal for the year,” Junior Mitali Satheye said. IB to hold garage sale
By Julia Kim Staff Writer In continuing with their international project, IB students are organizing a garage sale for April 3 to raise more funds following their hot chocolate sale earlier in December. The garage sale will be at the Sprouts parking lot from 7 to noon. As of now, the students are working to raise a minimum of $800 which would fund one student’s annual scholarship. For next year’s international project, students are looking at LiNK, an organization that came to CHS and talked to IB students.
Invisible Children to hold Awareness Week
by Divya Kumar News Editor The Invisible Children Club is holding an “Awareness Week” in order to promote their club and the children in third world countries who are less fortunate than those here. Each day of this week will therefore be marked off with a theme in order to call attention.
