At Coppell High School, that means balloons and flowers.Throughout the day, the hallways have been filled with huge heart shaped balloons and roses. Beaming girls with presents making the empty-handed singles jealous. But one thing is one everyone’s mind: where did the carnations go? Normally, people send and receive carnations every year at CHS. IB economics students bring new micro lending fundraiser to CHS

IB Economics students are continuing this trend with their work with KIVA, a micro lending organization. KIVA is a global community connected through lending. The mission of the organization is to connect with entrepreneurs in undeveloped countries. Anyone is able to go online, create an account, choose anyone of the prospective entrepreneurs and give a donation as low as $25. Swim team starts “flocking”

Addy Buigas-Lopez Staff Writer If you look out your window and see flamingos littering your yard, the swim team has been there. Starting tonight, members of the swim team will be visiting friends’ and neighbors’ houses and covering their lawn with pink flamingos as the swim team’s first fundraiser. Once your yard has been covered in them, you have the option to remove them and relocate them to a different house, with help of the swim team, starting from around $20. Help support the swim team by passing the “flock” on if it comes to you before the fundraiser ends.

The Coppell High School debate team has initated several attempts to make money for their account. We started selling snow cones at the beginning of the year, but as winter approached, snow cones were not feasible anymore. by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer Video by Matt French On Feb. 27, the Coppell Chamber of Commerce held its 28th annual Gala event, this year at the Hilton Garden Inn in Lewisville with a boogie theme, calling it the Boogie Ball. “It is a fun time,” Margie Marek, Membership Consultant said. “The community comes as well as the Chamber members and it is the biggest fundraiser for the Chamber. This year it is themed so we dressed up like disco.” The event, from 6:30 to midnight, was open to all Coppell residents over 21. Seniors provide relief with”Poets on Shirts’ Fundraiser

Debate garage sale this Saturday

by Melissa Brisco Staff Writer Saturday April 10, the CHS Debate Team will hold a Garage Sale to help send Priyanka Krishnamurthy, Joey Donaghy, Sarah Mithani and Sonali Kalvala to Tournament of Champions. The garage sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will be held in the Coppell High School parking lot. Money raised from the garage sale will go help pay to send Krishnamurthy, Donaghy, Kalvala and Mithani to Kentucky for the Tournament of Champions. Freshman band carwash to take place this Saturday

Maddie Walters Staff Writer This Saturday, March 27, the freshmen members of the Coppell High School band will host a car wash behind the 7-11 in Coppell at the corner of Sandy Lake and Denton Tap. The proceeds of this annual fundraiser will go directly to purchase gifts for senior band members at the band banquet. If you’re looking for a way to support your school and clean off the spring break grime from your car, the freshman band car wash is the best way to do so. IB to hold garage sale

By Julia Kim Staff Writer In continuing with their international project, IB students are organizing a garage sale for April 3 to raise more funds following their hot chocolate sale earlier in December. The garage sale will be at the Sprouts parking lot from 7 to noon. As of now, the students are working to raise a minimum of $800 which would fund one student’s annual scholarship. For next year’s international project, students are looking at LiNK, an organization that came to CHS and talked to IB students.
