Volleyball loses heartbreaker to Marcus

Seth Slover Staff Writer A large crowd from both Flower Mound Marcus and Coppell High School filed into the Coppell gym last night for a highly anticipated matchup between two top state ranked teams.  The uncommonly big crowd resulted in the Coppell fans living up to their call of duty.  A powerful “I believe that we will win” chant led by plunger boy Teddy Croft was a great way to start off the game with energy and enthusiasm for Coppell volleyball.  This atmosphere was made even better by two Coppell students who excitedly took advantage of the opportunity to ask girls to homecoming. Coppell baseball tops Marcus in offensive showdown

by Blake Seitz Sports Editor Last night, the Coppell baseball team traveled to Flower Mound to take on Flower Mound Marcus for its third district game of the season. It came out on top 10-6 after an offensive slugfest. Both sides came out firing in the first inning, as a bomb by Coppell’s Tyler Hernandez and strong batting from others brought in three runs. Marcus responded with four scores of its own. After that, however, it was a one-sided battle, as Coppell pitcher Sam Swinton shut down the Marauder offense. “Sam was a warrior the entire game,” head baseball coach Don English said. “Out of all seven innings, he only gave up eight hits.” Coppell fared much better at the…

Cowboys prepare to battle Marauders

By Gaby Moran Staff Writer Due to TAKS on Wednesday March 3, all UIL sports could not play any games on Tuesday March 2. This gave Coppell boys soccer team a full week just to focus on Friday March 5 game against Flower Mound Marcus. Last game, the Marauders beat the Cowboys 1-0 and tonight is a chance for redemption. Weather reschedules Coppell soccer games to Saturday

By Gaby Moran Staff Writer Due to the recent snow North Texas has seen, many soccer games have been rescheduled including Coppell. The boys soccer games against Flower Mound Marcus are rescheduled to Saturday Feb. 13. JV 1 is scheduled to play at Buddy Echols Field at 12 pm and Varsity is scheduled to play after around 1:30 pm. JV 2 will not have a make up game. The girls soccer have yet to say when their Marcus games will be rescheduled but check chssoccer.org later in the day.
