The tell tale signs of fall
Corrina Taylor Staff Writer Every year around this time I start to notice the little things that hint at the coming of fall and and the approach of the holiday season. Its only 3 days into October and already we have been experiencing some chilly mornings below 60. I have to start checking the Weather Channel in the morning before I head out to school because I don’t want to be caught walking through the frigid air without a jacket or sweatshirt on. The chilly air is just a hint of the colder air that is soon to come in the winter months of December and January. The weather isn’t the only clue of fall, walking through the halls…

The Pumpkin Patch makes its annual appearance just in time for fall
by Shelby Jurca Staff Writer Video by Melissa Dailey, KCBY. This past Halloween, everyone was on the lookout for the perfect pumpkin to carve and fill their yard with joyful Halloween spirit. A Coppell pumpkin patch is set up every year at the Rejoice Lutheran Church to help turn yards everywhere from scarily plain to plainly scary. The Pumpkin Patch was established a group of Coppell women who wanted to do something good for the community. Marcie Sandall, one of the ladies working at the patch, was one of the women who first came up with the idea for The Pumpkin Patch. “One of the ladies in the group went to visit her mother and…
Tea -a current favorite beverage
Ashley Attanucci Web Manager This weekend I made one of the best investments of the year- on Teavana’s most popular tea flavor: Samurai Chai Mate, a combination of two seperate Chai blends. I had been eyeing this tea since last Christmas, I remember, when I tasted a sample as I hurried out of the mall, debating whether I should make the investment or not. For ten dollars or more per ounce of loose leaf tea, I figured that I should really love it before I buy it. When I visited the Galleria of Dallas again this Saturday, after having let the idea of the Samarai Chai marinate with each tea craving over the past year,…

By five-o-clock, band students from all around the metroplex are going to be flooding Coppell High School to compete in one of the most important competitions of the year: All-Region Band tryouts. While you might think to yourself, ‘I thought the band had been marching all year. When did they have time to learn tons of music?’ that is exactly what you should be asking. Few people outside of band know that along with all of the marching music the band members have to learn, they also must master three etudes…

Fall brings flu season to CHS
Rebecca Neumann Staff Writer I love fall. It means falling leaves and pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween and good football. But with all the good it brings, there is a dark side to these mostly wonderful months: flu season. I’m sure you’ve noticed. There is a least one person gone in every one of my classes. It’s enough to make you want to chronically wash your hands. I myself have a usually strong immune system, but I am concerned. It’s impossible to keep up with make-up work after missing school for a few days, much less a week if you catch the swine flu. I would like to urge all of you to please take some…
