Emergency preparedness plan firmly in place for CISD
By Michelle Pitcher Editor-in-Chief In light of the recent tragedy in Moore, Okla. and the severe weather that blew through North Texas yesterday afternoon, Coppell ISD wants to be sure all students and parents within the district understand the emergency measures that are in place. As per the law, each campus has an emergency preparedness plan and regularly holds drills. Whenever severe weather is on the radar, emails and phone calls are sent out to every household in Coppell, and emergency alerts are posted on the CISD website as well as on official Twitter and Facebook pages. While the earthquake that devastated Haiti on Jan. 12 dispersed Haitian families, the disaster united foreign peoples under a common effort for relief aid.
