CHS students travel to Spain for break
by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer Coppell High School’s tradition of a Spain trip over sping break is continuing this year. Eleven students and Spanish teacher Janine Kay will be traveling to the country of Spain for a week-long adventure. The group has been planning for over a year to visit the Spanish-speaking country to immerse themselves in a new culture, touring, tasting and most of all speaking Spanish. They will leave tomorrow morning on a 14-hour flight and return Sunday just before the start of school. As “Sesame Street” ages, audience changes
By Mary Whitfill Staff Writer Nov. 10 marks the 40th anniversary of the beloved program “Sesame Street”, the longest running children’s show in television history. Premiering in 1969, the show was originally created to be an educational television show – a revolutionary idea at the time. Rather than a substitute for reading and mathematics lessons, the show was created to teach children how to be good people and show learning can be fun. The original episodes are available on DVD, now available for purchase, but they include an unusual disclaimer for parents and other adults.
