2010’s most amazing moments in sports!

Thomas Hair Staff Writer As I contemplated the past year during the first days of the New Year, it struck me that 2010 was truly a great year. It was filled with fantastic games and performances, and the most prominent were the amazing moments in sports leaving fans speechless. Duke, Butler square off tonight

By Travis Bremner Staff Writer We started at 347 teams, selected 65; they played down to the Final Four where now we’re down to two with one team to eliminate. Duke and Butler play for the national championship tonight in men’s college basketball. Storyline: It’s a David vs. Goliath matchup no doubt, but Butler is no Cinderella story, they’re a perennial ‘mid-major’ power and haven’t lost since December 22nd. Duke is the preverbal road team with Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis being just a few miles from Butler University’s campus. Matchups: If Butler forward/center Matt Howard, a game time decision, isn’t able to play it will be even more difficult for the Bulldogs to keep…

Butler comes into the tournament as the hottest team winning over twenty games in a row, while West Virginia has had a very successful tournament run they first started winning in the Big East tournament. Traditional blue blood Duke shared the ACC regular…

Conference Tournaments:ACC

Bubble teams: Georgia Tech is really the only bubble team in the ACC currently.  If they can win against North Carolina and win their next round matchup then they should be locked for the ACC’s seventh team in the tourney. Dark Horse: The only team that can work its way in the tournament is Virginia.  The Cavs started…

Duke vs Maryland for inside track for ACC title

By Andy Tabor The Maryland Terps play the Duke Blue Devils tonight in a huge rivalry game and with many postseason implications.  Maryland is number 23 in the nation to Duke’s number 4 overall. The Terps come in with player of the year candidate senior guard Greivis Vasquez while Duke comes in to play with another player of the year candidate in senior guard Jon Scheyer.  Both of these players will try to show their own talent to the national public while trying to lead their respective teams to victory. The Terps earlier in the year were blown out at Cameron Indoor by the final score of 77-56.  The Terps were flustered early turning the…
