Lariettes travel to happiest place on earth
By Natalie Gilbert Staff Writer Bright and early on March 22, the Coppell High School Lariettes drill team lugged their bags filled with jazz shoes, costumes and performance make-up to American Airlines Airport as they embarked on their trip to Orlando, Fla. With preparation and fundraising since October, the dancers were more than ready for their four-day trip to the happiest place on Earth. Before lunch time, the 41 dancers, five chaperones, 12 parents and coaches Julie Stralow and Hayley Hoffman trampled into Animal Kingdom for safari adventures, roller coasters and dinner in Downtown Disney. Lariettes compete in regional showcase
By Caroline Carter Staff Writer Kicking off their competition season, the Coppell High School Lariettes will be competing in the Crowd Pleasers South DFW competition at South Grand Prairie High School on Feb. 25. The day long competition will consist of team dances, solo performances and duets. This will be the Lariette’s first competition of the year and will attend three different competitions this year. Silver Stars continue to wow Coppell
By Caroline Carter Staff Writer Coppell High School’s junior varsity drill team, the Silver Stars, have preformed at several different community and high school events in the past month. Though the team has only been together for a few months, they have delivered some fantastic performances. Before school started, the Silver Stars preformed a routine for the freshman pep rally to a remix of Lady Gaga’s “Judas”. This past week they also walked in the Homecoming parade. The Silver Stars preform at several of the freshman and junior varsity games. Their upcoming performances are on September 28 at 5:30, October 6 at 7:00, and October 27 at 5:30.
Lariettes Showoffs Tonight
by Melissa Brisco Staff writer Tonight, Thursday, Feb. 18, the Coppell High School Lariettes will perform their annual pre contest ‘Showoffs’. Each year, the Lariettes perform their Showoffs as a way for the community to get to see their dances and also for the Lariettes to get to do a run through of their show. Showoffs will be in the gym tonight at 7:30 p.m. and the cost of admission is $5. The Lariettes will perform their pom, kick, jazz and modern dances.
