While this contest will feature two phenomenal football teams, it will also mark the conclusion of a very different fight: The Souper Bowl of Caring’s fight against hunger. Community fights to feed the hungry
By Julianne Cauley News Editor Similar to last year, Coppell is partnering up with Christian Community Action to fight community hunger. Drop off locations include Coppell Town Center and the public library. The organization is asking for non- perishable items and will be accepting donations through Jan. 2. Donations will not be accepted if partially opened. They are in need of other items besides just non – perishable food, the list can be found here.
Carter Blood Care to host their annual blood drive at CHS this Thursday
Kimberly Del Angel Staff Writer Every year Coppell High School hosts a blood drive in partnership with Carter Blood Care, in order to help expose students to a greater cause in which they can take part in. One of these donations can save up to three lives. Students can sign up this week for a specific time range in which they’d like to make their donation throughout the day on Thursday, Oct. 6 during their lunches. Memories grow at Storch memorial
by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer Video by Drake McWhorter After losing one of their most beloved students, Coppell Middle School East has built an on-campus memorial site for eighth grader Taylor Storch. An oak tree, known as Taylor’s Tree, was planted in the center of a student-designed garden to make permanent Storch’s presence at the school. Free pancake day at IHOP
My classmates raved about another free pancake day at IHOP this week, but frequenters warned inquirers that the wait for some after-school breakfast would be long. Earlier this week -Tuesday, Feb. 23 it was, to be exact- wasn’t just any ordinary free pancake day, though. It was in celebration of National Pancake Day. Who knows where this holiday originated, but I am definitely in favor of taking off school to eat delicious, warm, fluffy, butter-topped and sweet syrup-drenched pancakes. Yum.
