Yesterday was the first day of competition being held at New Tech High school and the teams were all ready and well prepared to win. Each team played a total of two games determining where they stand amongst their competitors. Each team came up with a very clever name in order to either humor or intimidate the other teams. Some of these names include The Darkness, The Jelly Beans, and New Tech. Intramurals are always a fun time for Coppell students. Chase Porter Staff Writer In the wide world of sports one league trumps all others. No it’s not the NFL or the NBA, it’s the intramural league at Coppell High School. Intramurals have been present here for three years and they are currently bigger than ever. They allow students to play sports for the fun of the game instead of being on one of the school teams. Also, the students get to play a wide range of sports from Ultimate Frisbee to dodge ball and create their own teams within their group of friends. Intramural dodge ball back at CHS
By Peter Sblendorio Staff Writer While one popular intramural sport, Ultimate Frisbee, came to its conclusion last week, another one made its season debut. The first games of the six on six dodgeball season took place on Thursday, Nov. 19 at the gym at New Tech High in Coppell. Nine teams competed in what is the first week of a three-week season. Playoffs will be held on Dec. 17 for qualifying teams. This is the second year that CHS has offered dodgeball as intramural sport for its students, though last year it was held in the spring.
