Whataburger to open near Market Street

Rebecca Neumann Entertainment Editor If you were to drive down Denton Tap Rd. towards the Walmart in Lewisville right now, you would see some construction being done in front of Market Street. Though it will not be completed for some months, a Whataburger will eventually open in that location. Despite the recent weather set-backs. The new place is not technically in Coppell, but it will still be extremely convenient for many people in Coppell. For those who tire of the local fast-food places like Wendy’s…

Rain, rain go away

Frances Ruiz Staff Writer It’s the rain. It has to be. I can’t think of any other reason as to why I could barely drag myself out of bed, throw on whatever clean sweatshirt I could find and sleepily make my way down the puddled road of Denton Tap to CHS. With so many windows and skylights in our building, I can’t help but see the dreary outside atmosphere and daydream of  the warm, fuzzy blankets and tasty, hot chocolate awaiting me at home. If only the torrential downpour that occurred last night had somehow turned into ice and snow, then maybe we could all be enjoying the wonderful surprise of a snow day. But it didn’t, and sadly, we’re not. Even…

New restaurant fills Chilli’s Too’s shoes

By Satvika Ananth Staff Writer In place of the typical Chilli’s fast food-style bustle, J. Macklin’s Grill features a more simple, sophisticated appearance, with sleek wooden tables and just-bright-enough lighting. The austere appearance is tempered by a few colorful paintings that give the restaurant a delightfully mellow ambiance. The restaurant’s motto of “Eat, Talk, Drink,” fits the place well, as patrons can enjoy a simple, American-style meal while conversing in a quiet environment. “We want this restaurant to be a place where people can eat quality food without having to go to Dallas,” general manager Andy Gonzales said. The price of a meal ranges from $8 – $13, with a small but varying menu to…
