Weekend state final predictions

By Chris Reagan Staff Writer If you’re free this weekend and you love football you should make your way to Cowboys stadium to catch the 4A and 5A state championships Friday and Saturday night. District rival Southlake Carroll is the lone Dallas representative taking on Fort Bend Hightower. As much as it pains me to do, I have to give the edge to Southlake Carroll. The Dragons just have too good of a quarterback in Kenny Hill and a very solid and experienced receiving core to back him up. For the Division II state championship we have Spring Dekaney taking on Cibolo Steele. Steele has the playoff experience, winning state last year and the team…

Top 5 Bottom 5: Places in the School

Coleman Armes Staff Writer In the school there are really good places to be and places where you don not want to hang out. Here is my list of the best and worst places to be in the Coppell High School. Top 5 Places in the School 1. The Senior Bridge- Congrats! If you are here you are on top. You have worked hard for the past three years and now it is time to celebrate. Now you can be cool on the bridge and look down on all of the non-deserving  underclassmen with disgust. 2. Cowboys Stadium- If you are here there is something big going on. Whether it is a football game, soccer…

Not all goes as planned for Super Bowl XLV

Beth Anne Carroll Staff Writer Super Bowl XLV has finally come and gone. However, not everything went as smooth as North Texas would have liked. Despite the great game between the Steelers and Packers, the rest of Super Bowl weekend was a bit of a disappointment. Weather and seating issues may have ruined the Metroplex’s chances of hosting another Super Bowl. Ice, snow and temperatures in the 20s greeted football fans arriving to the area for the big game. Fans and players alike complained of the uncharacteristic winter weather and poor driving conditions. Icy conditions made driving treacherous and many flights later in the week were cancelled due to snow. The weather finally cleared for…

Super Bowl match-up determined

Beth Anne Carroll Staff Writer It’s official. Super Bowl XLV will be a classic match-up between two of the leagues most historically successful franchises; the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers will meet in football’s biggest game on February 6 at Cowboys Stadium. Both teams overcame big leads early and comeback attempts by their opponents to punch their tickets to Arlington. The NFC champion Packers earned a Super Bowl berth with a 21-14 win over the Chicago Bears, after three road wins in the playoffs. The Steelers won the AFC championship by defeating the New York Jets 24-19 a week after beating a tough Baltimore Ravens team. Both teams will bring thousands of fans…

EMAC visits Cowboys Stadium

Story by Rebecca Neumann Entertainment Editor Video by Davis DeLoach and Chris Reagan Cowboys Stadium offers many things: great entertainment, great food, great facilities, and, for the students of the Coppell High School EMAC academy, a great opportunity to learn about media and technology. On Tuesday, around 60 students, excited about the trip and the prospect of missing a school day, piled into two buses and visited one of the NFL’s newest stadiums. Upon arrival, they all split up into different groups of four, each including one advertising student, one photographer, one reporter and one videographer. For the first part of their visit, they filmed video introductions, took pictures of the massive structure and scribbled…

Seniors reflect on past four years

By Rebecca Fowler Staff Writer It has finally come. The caps will be flying and parents will be crying on June 6, as over 700 seniors walk the stage and graduate from Coppell High School. It is both an exciting and sentimental time, filled with many mixed emotions about starting fresh while also leaving something precious behind. While seniors are anxiously awaiting the start of their new lives, at the end of this journey, they are taking time to glance in the rear-view mirror and reminisce on the unforgettable moments they have experienced at CHS over the past four years. The Best Moments “One of my favorite moments in high school was when I went…
