New club PAWS demonstrates passion and compassion

Ashley Attanucci Web Manager This new school year brought with it many new clubs, including one, PAWS, the very first of its kind at the school. PAWS, as its name might suggest, is all about pets. This club, Pets Are Worth Saving, revolves around saving abandoned dogs and cats and helping them find new homes. What sets this club apart from others, though, is its particular way of strengthening their cause. Rather than starting its own mission anew, PAWS addresses the needs of animals through directly helping another organization called K9Kat2. By joining forces with K9Kat2, a non-profit organization that rescues cats and dogs from euthanasia, members of PAWS are able to more efficiently help…

He marveled at the mountainous landscape, beaches, temples, cities and the Taj Mahal, making memories that would last a lifetime. Fresh clubs for the school year

I just went on the Coppell website and all of the new placements and tweaks the school made for the new school year of 2010-2011 aren’t fully in print and publicized. And as a student I was stuck in a spot where I had to go up to the main office or ask someone what clubs were out and new for the year. CHS club meetings

Laura Kattilakoski Staff writer With the new school year well on it’s way, club meetings are springing up almost daily. Coppell High School has dozens of clubs to offer, so that everyone can find something they’re interested in. This past week, various clubs have had their first meetings, including Business Professionals of America (BPS), National Art Honor Society (NAHS), HOSA, and Hope for Africa. It was a busy week for many students, especially the club leaders. Some clubs and organizations even have the added work of planning and decorating floats for the homecoming parade. NHS community service opportunities

National Honor Society is offering many upcoming group hour opportunities. First and foremost, benefting CHS directly, is month trash pick-up at the school. The first Saturday of each month, NHS members are to meet at the high school to pick up trash outside around the school; check in with an officer outside the gym. Volunteers are also needed at the Destination Imagination competition at the school on Friday and Saturday (6-10 pm; and 7:30-12 pm or 12-4:30 pm) for shifts. The spring blood drive is next month, April 8. NHS members are to check Blackboard for updates and shadowing sign-up will be at the next NHS meeting, April 1st.
