New Tech High at Coppell awarded new Confucius Classroom

By Lance McCaskey Staff Writer The Asian Culture and Community: Confucius Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas has awarded New Tech High at Coppell a new Confucius Classroom.The Confucius Institute awarded four schools a new Confucius Classroom to promote the learning of Chinese. As of now, the Institute has over 10 classrooms across the metro-plex to inspire more students to learn about the Chinese language and culture. They announced today their plans to give a new Confucius Classroom to  Highland Park High, Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Episcopal School of Dallas, and New Tech High at Coppell. When one walks down the halls of Coppell High School during passing period, it is easy to see the various cultures that are represented in Coppell. One of the most prominent cultures is Chinese. Behind the scenes of the fourth annual DFW Dragon Boat Festival, however, were performers and volunteers who often had been there since early in the morning, making sure the event went smoothly.
