Coppell places third in Texas Cup State Tournament

By Amanda Peck Staff Writer The Coppell hockey team rose above their expectations for the 2009-10 season and finished with an impressive record of 36-7-3 and a third-place finish in the Texas State Cup Championship.   Before their season even started, the Cowboys earned the title of Summer League Champions with a 12-0-1 record. Cowboys advance to Texas Cup State Tournament

    By Amanda Peck Staff Writer The Coppell hockey team beat the Allen Eagles 6-2 in the City Championship game Wednesday night at the Farmers Branch Dr Pepper Stars Center. The goals were scored by brothers Brandon and Bradley Harley and Sam Kim who all had two goals each. Cowboys lose to Carroll in tough game

The team had six players that were not able to play in the game due to injuries or tournaments in their club teams. Nick Futch has been out due to an injury for several weeks. The Cowboys season ends March 4. Coppell hockey ends seven game winning streak

By Amanda Peck Staff Writer Last night the Coppell hockey team ended their 7 game winning streak with a 2-5 loss against one of the team’s biggest rivals this year, Plano West. The Cowboys lost to Plano West in overtime earlier this year; however Coppell beat them in a previous game, so the game last night was to determine who would come out on top of the two teams. The “Skate with the Cowboys “event will take place at the Farmers Branch Dr. Pepper Center from 11am- 1pm on the Monday during Thanksgiving Break. Coppell takes on Plano West in hockey

By Amanda Peck Staff Writer The Coppell Cowboys varsity hockey team will take on Plano West tonight at the Farmers Branch Dr. Pepper center. Plano West is one of Coppell’s biggest opponents, but the Cowboys are prepared and ready to win. “Plano West is pretty good, but I think we can beat them,” senior capatin Charlie Busch said. “We have been practicing hard and we have beat them in the past.” Plano West has been ranked higher in previous seasons, so the Cowboys are predicted to come out on top at tonight’s game.
