Improving the district through bonds: the CISD plan

Mary Whitfill Features Editor Coppell Independent School District is looking to improve the condition of facilities and programs throughout the district through replacing air conditioning and heating systems, as well as providing new sports equipment. These goals are expected to be met through the wise distribution of bond money. Beginning in 2008, CISD organized a community committee to visit each campus and assess what their individual needs were. Within the year, the committee had put together a list of a few hundred things needed in various buildings and the district came up with about $50 million in bonds, the expected cost of the improvements. Cowboy football spring practices and game coming up

Coleman Armes Staff Writer After a record breaking 13-1 season the Coppell Cowboys start the beginning of a new season May 2. Practices will start at 6:15am on the second and alternate with morning and afternoon practices. The Cowboys will wrap up the spring practices with the annual spring game at Buddy Echols Field May 26. JV/Freshmen will play their spring game at 4:30pm while varsity game will begin at 7:00pm. The team hopes to go far and will try not to get caught up in the success the record breaking team had last year. Last home game serves as farewell to Buddy Echols Field for Seniors

Staff Writer Frances Ruiz As a student who gets into the action of football games, I can always be seen yelling and cheering at the Coppell stadium on Friday nights. No matter if its pouring down rain or incredibly hot, I love the excitement and rush generated at each and every game. So with Coppell’s last home game rapidly approaching, I’m sad to say goodbye to Buddy Echols Field. Tonight’s game has been appropriately themed Senior Night for the students who have crammed in the bleachers and stuck on Coppell tattoos for the past four years.
