Coppell resident Tony Moline was chosen to be a member of the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives (TCCE) earlier this week, a fantastic honor for one of Coppell’s hardest working officials. The TCCE is an elite group of commerce executives from all across Texas, now including Coppell. After being recommended for the TCCE, Moline was eventually voted into the prestigious century-old organization by a strong majority.

Moline was awarded this honor in recognition of his performance as the president and CEO of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce for the past 9 months. Moline was admitted into the TCCE after only 9 months, a tremendously impressive feat given his lack of prodigious experience. Though he has been CEO of the Coppell Chamber of Commerce for such a short time, his diligence created many opportunities for the city and was noticed by many.

Moline hopes to implement lessons and strategies that were effective in Coppell at the State level and has expressed his excitement for the future of both Coppell and Texas in 2012.

This weekend, many juniors and seniors from across the metroplex will congregate at middle schools and high schools to participate in one of the most feared standardized test high school students must all face: the SAT test.

For Coppell students, there are several places they will go. The closest place the SAT will be given is at Coppell Middle School North, just down Denton Tap from CHS. However, many students opted for other schools, mostly due to late registration.

Tonight, many upperclassmen will be cramming vocabulary words and reviewing strategies from their prep classes instead of hanging out with friends, telling themselves that in 24 hours it will all be over.

The SAT results are one of the things colleges and universities look at the most when deciding acceptance. Although you can take the SATs multiple times, it is still very important.

So if you see an anxious-looking junior or senior, please show them some compassion and wish them luck.
