Ashley Attanucci Web Manager The annual banquet for Coppell High School’s Varsity Drill Team was another success as Lariettes and their dates danced the night away at the Omni in Lewisville Saturday night. As a way for Lariettes and especially seniors to celebrate a memory-filled year, the banquet, this year planned by Amanda Olson, President of Lariettes, featured dinner, awards and recognition as well as a dance party for the last hours. Lasting until 12 o’ clock midnight, dancers and their dates were able to squeeze the last drops of the 2011 banquet which took countless hours of planning. Softball to hold banquet Wednesday night

The CHS Cowgirls softball team will have their banquet Wednesday night to hand out awards to the players and look back on the year. The Cowgirls came in sixth in their 7-5A district after a tough season. The banquet takes place at Hackberry Creek Country Club in Las Colinas at 7.

Laura Kattilakoski Staff Writer “I didn’t get up at five in the morning to get second place.” This saying holds true for the dozens of horseback riders who are members of the North Texas Hunter Jumper Club and sacrifice hours of sleep to attend horse shows. For most teens, the weekend is a time to sleep in and catch up on the week’s events. Members of the NTHJC, however, devote dozens of weekends to getting up at the crack of dawn to compete at horse shows. Students, teachers honored at top 5% banquet

By Daphne Chen On Tuesday, May 4, the Coppell ISD Education Foundation honored its 2009-2010 CHS Distinguished Scholars and their chosen teachers, as well as the district’s teachers of the year, at the Marriott Hotel in Irving. The event, themed “I Hope You Can Dance,” began with the National Anthem sung by CHS senior Leah Gray and also ended with Leah and her father Rusty Gray performing the title solo. CHS Principal Brad Hunt made a speech to highlight the seniors in attendance, who were invited based on their rank in the top 5% of the graduating class of 2010. Top students honor top teachers

Rebecca Neumann Staff Writer This week, the top five percent ranked students in the class of 2010 are taking pictures with their favorite teachers at Bob Freeman’s Studio in Coppell. Each year, CHS honors the top five percent graduating seniors with a banquet. This year, the banquet is on May 4 at the D/FW Airport Marriot Hotel.
