CHS Organizations begin prep for next year
Beth Anne Carroll Staff Writer With the closing weeks of the school year only a couple of months away, it is time for some of Coppell High School’s organizations to start thinking about next year. Many clubs and teams have started advertising membership and auditions for the 2011-2012 school year. Lariettes, Silver Stars and Coppell Cheer all have informational meetings and tryouts within the next month. The Academic Decathlon team has an information meeting this week. Applications to be a member of the Red Jackets organization are also available starting today. CHS AcDec team members announced
by Divya Kumar News Editor This weekend, the Coppell High School Academic Decathalon team conducted a series of tests in order to determine which select few of them would be chosen to be part of the competing team. The tests were conducted in two parts – an oral and a written half. The students were tested over the French Revolution, and several aspects of it. The results of these tests were released on Monday, Dec. 7 and the team list was posted. Students chosen to be on the team were Honor Members Mitu Bhattatiry, Srishti Goel and Krishna Patel. AcDec students visit Amon Carter museum for further knowledge
by Divya Kumar News Editor This Thursday, October 22, the Academic Decathalon team at Coppell High School visited the Amon Carter museum in downtown Fort Worth. This year’s topic for the AcDec team is the French Revolution. The students must study different aspects of the time period for France, ranging from things such as mathematics to music. One of the topics that must be covered is artwork, hence the reason for the trip to the museum. Every year, the students travel to the Amon Carter museum to see the live representation of the artwork that they have been studying in class.
