Bachelor showdown
Staff Writer Paige Wilson The Bachelor Jake picked his final two women and I couldn’t have been more angry. After another Alie cry scene that was unbearable Jake mad his way to the rose ceremony. Jake closed the episode by sending home Gia. He chose Vieanna over Gia. How dumb can he be, does he really think a 23 year old is there to find love and get married? To bad Jake never got to see Us Weeklys latest cover story presenting the double life of Vieanna. The article led readers to belive that she is just there for the publicity. The only decent thing that night was Gia’s fabulous exit. She didn’t scream or…
Lost presents new mysteries
Allie Perison Editor in Chief Last night’s episode of Lost made one thing clear to me: regardless of which story line is reality, the passengers of flight 815 will be tied to each other in some way or another. It should come as no surprised that last night’s episode “What Kate Does” was all about Kate. After reading a few fan websites, I learned that the episode title was a play off of an older episode entitled “What Kate Did” that focused on telling the story how Kate tried to murder her father and now was a fugitive. When Kate left the island last season and took Aaron as her own, she felt a huge responsibility…
Lost starts in final season
Allie Perison Editor in Chief This Tuesday, Lost came back with the first episode of its final season. If you read my last blog, you are well aware of my mixed feelings about the show. As I sat down to watch on Tuesday, I was expecting somewhat of a letdown. I feel like I have been in a troubled six year relationship with Lost. The kind where I think it is cheating on me and am suspicious of its every move. A little drastic? Maybe. True? Definitely. I am not ashamed of my inconsistent relationship with Lost. I still have hope that maybe it will end with the same bang it came in with. After…
Hopes that Lost provides answers
Next Tuesday, Feb. 6, the popular series Lost will return for its 6th and final season. As an avid watcher, I have mixed feelings about what this season has in store. After starting out with a huge following and gradually falling into what some would call a three year sophomore slump, the show is supposedly going to “answer all our unanswered questions.” How many times have we heard this false promise? Quite frankly, I have almost bailed on the show twice, but continued watching in hopes that one of these days I would get some answers. It seems that my love for the characters outweighs my constant annoyance with new mysteries that will inevitably be…
Midseason changes for TV
by Melissa Brisco Staff Writer At the start of each new year, television networks asses the successes and failures of their shows and choose to replace them or start a new show. In addition, there are shows that come back at the start of the new year after a year or half year off. Regardless of why, there are many changes in the landscape of television programming has changed immensely. One new show that has been receiving much buzz is ABC’s “The Deep End”. “The Deep End” revolves around a new group of five lawyers from all different backgrounds at a prominent law firm in Los Angeles, California. The boss on the show is known…
Death in Eastwick
Staff Writer Paige Wilson Eastwick on ABC recently found out htat their show would not be renewed for the Spring however that has not stopped them from bringing jaw dropping episodes. Last night was no exception. All three women have excepted their powers, Kat may have been too excited. Her power to heal took over her and she stopped the course of death and pain for many but what about herself? It seems the power has taken a toll on her physical heallth by making her appearance look 20 years older and constant nose bleed. Kay is last seen in a bath tub loosing large amounts of blood and heading toward death. Roxie tries to…
CMA awards show airs tonight
By Rebecca Fowler Staff Writer The country is going to be singing and stomping its boots tonight when the CMA awards airs live on ABC. This will be the 43rd CMA awards and is sure to be filled with famous stars and songs. One of the most talked about country artists this year is Taylor Swift, who is up for Entertainer of the Year along with Kenney Chesney, Brad Paisley, George Strait and Keith Urban. The only girl in the running—and the only one under 25 at that—Swift is likely to make it big this year and take home the trophy and greatest honor the Country Music Association can give. With the most records sold…
Why “Flash Forward” is the next big show to hit homes
It is the show that has people’s attention everywhere right now. It has sparked rave and attention, some being good and some being bad. The show is called “Flash Forward”. The whole plot of the show is that everyone in the world blacks out for two minutes and 17 seconds. People are shaken up, injured really badly, or even worse are brutally killed. Now some of the questions surrounding the show are pretty simple, but could take awhile to answer completely. How did the blackout happen? Who caused it to happen? WHY did the blackout happen in the first place? The show follows different characters but all mostly revolve around one CIA agent and his…
ABC gains comedy cred with Modern Family and The Middle
Usually, when I need a comedy fix, I watch shows on NBC like “The Office” and “30 Rock”. Sometimes I watch “Two and-a-Half Men” and “How I met your Mother” on CBS. I’ll even turn to Comedy Central to improve my mood, but never have I ever watched ABC for its comedy. Well, until now at least. ABC is now coming out with comedies that I can stand to watch. For example, “The Middle” is about a typical American family. And when I say ‘typical’ I mean relatable. At one point, the main character, Patricia Heaton’s Frankie, tells her kids that they need to eat as a family. They then proceed to bring their food into the…
