“Off the Map” splashes on ABC
Paige Wilson Asst. Business Manager Two weeks ago ABC launched a new series “Off the Map”. The show is based in the rainforest and goes through the life of a group of doctors working in a clinic. I personally thought the show was great because of the excellent scenery and different types of medical cases from a man being crushed to death by a anaconda and a man hanging by his arm on a zip line. Although these might sound disgusting the shooting is done tastefully so it is not so gruesome. Plus being in South America, many of the people speak in Spanish so it is a great way to practice or brush up…
Reminisce of Christmas Past…
Jane Kim Staff Writer With the holidays coming in the near distant future, many remember last year… The year is snowed on Christmas Eve. It’s like the classic image that you get in your head when you think about the holidays. Sitting by the fire, drinking hot chocolate and it’s snowing outside. You can smell the fresh Christmas tree, all decorated and looking pretty. To me, the best part of Christmas and the holidays are the Christmas movies and especially ABC Family’s “25 Days of Christmas”. This year starts with Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause and the Polar Express on Friday. Monday kicks off with an old classic: Rudolph the…
The last Lost ever
Allie Perison Editor in Chief The time has come. This Sunday will mark the last episode of Lost EVER! As the final season comes to a close, all the mystery of what the island is will finally be revealed. The series will wrap up this Sunday with a four hour special. Although, I recently heard a satellite might interfere with some Losties final showdown. I have no predictions for how the series will end, but I am hoping it goes out with a bang. I want the best for all of my favorite characters as I am sure all the other Losties out there do too. Will it be a final showdown between good and evil?…
Lost approaches its end
By Allie Perison Editor in Chief With only two episodes remaining in the series, Lost is finally approaching its end. I think we all thought we would have more answers by now, but things are starting to come together. On the last episode, we were given the back story on Jacob and the man who inhabits John Lockes body who has yet to have a name. We learned that the two characters are in fact brothers of a mother who was murdered immediately after their birth. The story continues to show the bond between the two brothers that eventually fades into hatred. The relationship between Jacob and no named brother seems to be much deeper than…
ABC’s new show Happy Town
by Ashley Attanucci Staff Writer Murder, mystery, dramatic music -all the ingredients for a perfect scary TV show that have me hooked on ABC’s new show Happy Town. Ironic to the title, the quaint town of Haplin is creepy, its people are creepy and the series of events are creepy and pretty much the exact opposite of anything happy the townspeople could ask for. A quick idea about what the show is about: There’s a town, called Haplin, also known as “Happy Town” (in Minnesota). Its small population is plagued with a history of unsolved kidnappings of their children (main suspect: “Magic Man”) and a recent murder upsets the recovering town. The show is interesting because it…
The final season progresses
By Allie Perison Editor in Chief As the last episodes of Lost come to a closing, it seems that everything is leading back to relationships. Throughout the entire series, it is the character development and relationships that have kept most of us watching. To me, it seems like Desmond is now playing a sort of Jacob like role, pushing all of the Oceanic flight members to find the person they connected with on the island. The real question is if the same thing that happens on the island is inevitably going to happen regardless of location. I wonder if Hurley’s lover will eventually die and if clair will stay go crazy. I also can’t help…
Lost gets closer to end
Allie Perison Editor in Chief As Lost approaches the end and less than 10 action packed episodes remain, we are creeping closer and closer to finding out what exactly it all means. Things seem to be coming together as we watch as island world and regular life still make all of our characters lives intersect. I don’t know which story line I want to be reality. If the island world is reality, does it mean that only one of our favorite Lost characters can survive? It has been made clear that in order to be chosen as a candidate, you have to be the only survivor. All of the characters have undeniable ties to the…
Lost approaches it end
Allie Perison Editor in Chief This weeks Lost was action filled with everything ranging from a physco Claire to a blood thirsty Sayid. Could it be that the show is coming down to an ultimate battle of good vs. evil? I can’t say for sure, but basing off of this last episode it seems that good and evil are being clearly established. It is hard to predict just how the series will close because it seems like everything turns into a twist. Every time you think that you have uncovered the true meaning of something, it ends up being a completely new mystery. The question is if all of us Lost fans will be on…
Lost leaves viewers left lost
Allie Perison Editor in Chief On this weeks episode of Lost another mystery was presented. Jack has a son. Yes, that’s right, a son. Don’t bother racking your brain to remember some episode from a previous season that included this bit of information because you will only be left with nothing. Yes, Lost fans, that is right. Another character has fallen from the sky (Not literally of course. Since Lost gets pretty out there I felt the need to clarify.). I hope this frusterates everyone else as much as it does me. The one good thing about the episode was that Claire was finally found on the island, although, she looks a bit like a crazy. She…
The Lost craze hits CHS
Rebecca Neumann Staff Writer Apparently, there are only three different types of people: Those who love “Lost” and can’t get enough of it; those who used to watch “Lost” but got confused and stopped watching; and those who have never watched an episode in their life and don’t understand what all the fuss is about. Although most people are familiar with the show because of its extreme popularity when it premiered in 2004, a significant portion of its audience abandoned it after the third season. Some, including executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, believe the show was saved in May 2007 when they both appealed to ABC to allow them to set an end…
