Senior writes to end poverty in native country

WyzAnt Tutoring, the leading tutoring marketplace on the web, has opened its third annual college scholarship contest.

In 300 words or less, applicants are to write in essay about how they will use their education to impact others. All essays must be submitted by May 1. Finalists are determined by popular vote, so applicants can promote their essay through social media, and then WyzAnt tutors will review essays in the final round to determine the winners of college scholarships worth$10,000, $3,000, $2,000.

Senior Daniel Lian has submitted an essay and has been promoting it via social media. Lian is majoring in Petroleum Engineering at Texas A&M University and wants to get a Joint Degree in Law and Business in order to get his native Chin minority in Burma out of poverty.
