David Apple

David Apple has been an active member of the Coppell community for a long time. Whether in sports or education, Apple has made his mark.

Currently, Apple holds a key position on the Coppell ISD Board of Trustees, as he has served as vice president of the Board for the past two years. Apple has held a position on the Board for about eight years, with his final term about to come to a close. In his time as a trustee, Appleā€™s primary roles have been to help decide and enforce the policies that will govern the district and to evaluate Superintendent Dr. Jeff Turner.

Specifically, Apple has been a part of several big happenings within the district; in the time he has been there the Board, he has helped in the decision to close Lee Elementary in order to open New Tech High @ Coppell, the relocation and reopening of Victory Place at Coppell, the placement of various academies within the school, elimination of class ranking below the top 10% and several other big moves made for Coppell.

Apple, along with his work on the Board of Trustees, is an advocate for the district on a local, regional and state level. Even on top of this, he serves as the liaison for the City of Coppell Economic Development Board and the Coppell City Council.

Apple has a deep history at Coppell. Even before he joined the Board of Trustees eight years ago, he served on the CISD education foundation, the Board of Directors for the YMCA and as the president of the Coppell Baseball Association.

Not only has Apple served for the good of the schools as a whole; he has also raised three kids, two of whom have graduated from the Coppell School System and a third that is currently a junior at New Tech @ Coppell.
