Last Friday, the Coppell Cowgirls JV and varsity track programs took on the Mesquite Stallion Stampede. The JV Cowgirls got first in the JV meet, while the varsity Cowgirls got third in the varsity division.
The JV cowgirls had many strong finishers including Bailey Betichek who got second place in the girl’s high jump as well as Nicole Francis and Megan Alberse who tied for fifth and sixth place in the JV girls pole vault. The JV Cowgirls also got first and second in the two-mile race, which allowed them to start out their meet with a commanding lead.
The varsity Cowgirls had many strong finishers in the running events. The Cowgirls placed in many of their relays including the 4×400 meter relay, which placed second less than a second from first place. The Cowgirls suffered without many of their strong competitor who were competing at Texas Relays on the same day. The Cowgirls top pole vaulters, Haley Cook, as well as leading runners Sarah Agnew, Valerie Osamor, Jenna Hernandez and Katie Sandford all competed at Texas Relays.
Congratulations to both teams for their top three finishes last week.
