JV lacrosse to go through tough stretch

    By Jay Carroll
    Staff Writer

The Coppell Cowboys junior varsity lacrosse team will be playing three games in less than 24 hours.

Tonight, both the Varsity and JV teams will take on perennial powerhouse Jesuit. Last year, JV went 0-2 against Jesuit while varsity also lost to Jesuit in the regular season. However, the Coppell Cowboys got revenge by defeating Jesuit in the varsity state championship game.

The junior varsity will look to beat Jesuit, but they will not have much time to recover as they will play a double-header against the Edmond (Oklahoma) on Saturday at 2:00 and 4:30 in the afternoon. The first game will be against Edmond’s junior varsity team. Afterwards, the JV team will have less than an hour to rest and recuperate before facing the difficult task of taking on Edmond’s varsity team at 4:30. However, JV will not be completely alone in this game. There will be swing and a few select varsity players that will help the JV squad.

The games on Saturday are at Coppell Middle School West, so bring your sunscreen and support the lacrosse team.
