2010 CHS graduate Elizabeth “Libbie” Ainsworth died Tuesday afternoon at Columbus Regional Medical Center after a single car accident near Auburn University early Sunday evening left her in critical condition.
According to Lee County Deputy Coroner Charlotte Patterson, Ainsworth suffered traumatic brain injury.
Ainsworth is the daughter of Jean and George Ainsworth of Coppell and sister of CHS senior Matthew Ainsworth. She aspired to be an interior designer.
Also in the accident was Auburn University defensive back Drew Cole, who was treated and released from East Alabama Medical Center on Sunday.
Memorial service times and dates have yet to be announced.
